OPTICOOL : Cool. Save. Preserve. – AN INNOVATION OF

From June 17th to 23rd, the SERAP Group welcomed a large number of guests to Gorron, including customers, partners, institutions and employees. They all had the pleasure of getting together to celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary.

On June 17, the Open House for employees and their families kicked off this program of festivities. We welcomed almost 1,000 people to our site to discover our workshops and offices. All day long, in small groups and according to a system of predefined time slots, visitors were able to discover or rediscover our different activities. For some, the visit even enabled them to assess the size of the site and learn that SERAP manufactures more than just milk coolers!

On June 20 and 21, we welcomed our French and international customers and distributors. A varied program awaited them. Technical meetings, workshop tours and visits to local companies were the order of the day. Some of them came from far and took advantage of local tourist attractions such as Lassay les Châteaux, or farther afield, such as the citadel at Saint-Malo.

On June 22, we welcomed our service providers, suppliers and public figures to our site in Gorron.

On June 23, the festivities came to a close with a big party organized for employees in Gorron community hall. A great moment of celebration together to the sound of the band ‘Génération’, and particularly appreciated by all.

The future, SERAP’s corporate project

During this week of celebrations, Eric Boittin, CEO of SERAP Groupe, made a number of speeches in which he outlined the company’s plans for the future.

Eric Boittin spoke of the SERAP Group’s 60 years of experience. SERAP has overcome 60 years of accumulated experience, punctuated by successes and difficulties. “Ultimately, experience means knowing how to learn from history, and making the right strategic decisions for the future“, he added.

Experience also means 60 years of loyalty from our distributor partners and customers, which has enabled SERAP to grow to its current level, with sales now in excess of €50 million.

SERAP’s future is a corporate project focused on its identity, values and vocation, while reinforcing its market share, its leading position in performance and quality, and its diversification into wine and food processing. It also means marketing technical solutions tailored to the varied needs of dairy farms large and small, and developing solutions to protect the planet.

Internally, SERAP has invested in energy-saving solutions such as :

-2 solar trackers installed on site;

-solar water heating for technical tests on milk cooling tanks;

-a 6,000m² photovoltaic panel farm, soon to be installed on the site;

-building renovation and insulation, LED lighting and heat pumps for heating.

Externally, SERAP’s product offering is resolutely focused on energy savings:

-isothermal tanks to control the temperature inside;

-optimized performance heat exchangers and stirrers;

-pre-cooling exchangers and heat recovery units;

-and the latest innovation, OPTICOOL, the most complete solution for reducing electricity consumption in milk cooling.

The future also means already working on future projects:

-a machine for cooling computer servers with oil in France;

-‘on-farm’ organic fertilizer preparation machines in Brazil.

Eric Boittin closed his speech with the following words: “On behalf of all our employees and management, I’d like to thank you for being here with us to mark the 60th anniversary of SERAP Industries, and consequently of the SERAP Group.  Many thanks to all those who have placed their trust in us and enabled us to become what we are today”.
